Key information: Second Beach

  • Second Beach is a 4 mile round trip hike in the Olympic National Park, with a short and steep descent to the beach.
  • Just south of Rialto Beach. 1km of log lined dramatic but beautiful beach, with sea caves, stacks and arches as well as wild sea seals and bald eagles. And possibly grey whales.
  • The sea stacks are known as the Quillayute Needles, part of the Quillayute Needles National Wildlife Refuge.
  • There are many natural arches along Second Beach, one known as Teahwhit Head.

    • This is remote mountain walking, on which you will have to be self-sufficient and the weather is often bad here. Come prepared
