Mount Whitney

Key information: Mount Whitney

Mount Whitney is not only a beautiful walk, it is the highest point in the continental United States. It is so popular that you must enter a lottery in February in order to get a permit. Round trip is 22 miles, so it can be done as a day hike, or you can take as many as three days to do the hike. There are also more technical approaches to the summit, if that is your bag. Whitney should definitely be listed as a recommended walk.
