WALK SUMMARY

Descend the winding path (once a mule track?) down the dramatic Risco cliffs, west of Ye on Lanzarote’s far northern ridge, to the plain below and some superb and empty beaches and, if you feel like it, some abandoned salt pans.

The views across the El Rio channel to La Graciosa are sublime – we recommend a picnic by the trail, high up but a bit below the viewpoint where most people stop.

While this walk is 9.5km,3hr maximum, it is a lot less if you head straight to the beaches. But always allow for the steep 450m return hike!

This is strenuous walking. Come prepared, including carrying enough water.
